Women's 5K Classic
The Women's 5K Classic is a charity race founded in 1993 and organized by an all‑volunteer, grassroots group. Its stated mission is to promote fitness among women and to support women with breast and gynecologic cancers and their families by contributing funding for related programs and research in the Lehigh Valley. The organization is a not‑for‑profit recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The event program includes a 5K run, a competitive walk, the Pink Ribbon Loop, team participation, an expo, survivor recognition, training resources and published results. Activities and grants focus on prevention, education and direct support for women dealing with breast and other female cancers.
Since its founding the organization has cumulatively donated over $4 million to local programs. In 2025 the Women’s 5K Classic donated $193,000 to programs in the greater Lehigh Valley, and over 30,000 local women and their families have been reported as beneficiaries of grants and services funded by the event. The Classic also highlights community engagement through sponsorships, volunteers and local partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
