Event overview
The Wolf Moon Trail Half Marathon is a trail half marathon organised by First Light Adventure in Sutton Scarsdale, Derbyshire. The event follows an out-and-back route and celebrates the January full moon, known as the Wolf Moon. Entry is open to participants aged 18 or older. Entries opened on 11 July 2025 and close on 27 December 2025. Entry fees listed are £25 for UKA members and £27 for non-members. The entry list shows 92 participants so far.
Course and facilities
The route starts from Race HQ at Rock Lane and runs through Sutton Spring Wood before climbing to the Five Pits Trail. The course undulates to a turning loop where an aid station is provided. Runners return along the same trail; finishers receive a Wolf Moon medal. At the finish there are cake and hot drinks by a campfire. Free car parking is available at Race HQ, Sutton Scarsdale Hall and nearby lanes.
Race rules and support
The event enforces a time limit to ensure the field returns within the organiser’s schedule. An optional 30 minute earlier start is offered for slower athletes or those who do not feel confident running at dusk or in the dark; this is not a competitive wave start and is not intended for runners who expect to finish inside 2h30.
