About the race
The Wolf Moon trail half marathon takes place on 23 January 2027 at Race HQ on Rock Lane in Sutton Scarsdale. The event is an out and back route run to mark the full moon known as the Wolf Moon. The course is described as challenging but scenic and follows woodland and trail sections. Runners leave Race HQ, run through Sutton Spring Wood and climb to the Five Pits Trail, where the route undulates before reaching a turning loop.
An aid station is positioned at the turning loop to support participants. On the return leg runners follow the same trail back to the finish. Finishers receive a Wolf Moon medal and can have cake and hot drinks by a campfire at the event finish area. Practical details: free car parking is available at Race HQ, the lane and Sutton Scarsdale Hall. Entry opens 14 August 2026 and closes 16 January 2027.
Entry fees listed are £27 for UKA members and £29 for non members. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entries are managed through SiEntries. The race has a 3 hour 30 minute time limit.
An optional 30 minute earlier start is available for slower athletes; this is not a competitive wave start and is not intended for those who expect to finish inside 2 hours 30 minutes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
