Woking Spring Triathlon & Junior Aquathlon

The event is hosted at Woking Leisure Centre and uses Woking Park for the run. The swim takes place in the centre's six lane competition pool operated by Freedom Leisure and includes a viewing gallery for spectators. Swimmers start in the pool with a snake style swim; for swims longer than 300m the first 150m is swum in lane 1 then participants snake to the end of the pool. Entrants provide an estimated swim time for seeding.

The bike uses an open-road circuit leaving the leisure centre and heading towards Mayford, with laps on the route between Mayford and Jacobs Well. SuperSprint competitors complete one lap and Sprint competitors complete two laps. The course is mostly flat with a few inclines and returns to transition via a right turn at the junction.

The run takes place inside Woking Park. The route is about 80% tarmac and 20% hard packed trail and is lapped, so competitors pass the central park area multiple times. Junior aquathlon participants use variations of the adult run route.

Event formats and distances include:

  • Sprint Triathlon: 400m swim, 20.6k bike, 5k run (age 15+)
  • Sprint Triathlon Relay: 400m swim, 20.6k bike, 5k run (teams of 2 or 3)
  • SuperSprint Triathlon: 200m swim, 13.6k bike, 3.3k run (age 15+)
  • Adult Aquathlon: 400m swim, 5k run (age 15+)
  • Junior and TriStar aquathlons: various swim and run distances for ages 8 to 16

The event notes visible course markings, marshals, spectator friendly routing, free event photos, a custom medal and finish line snacks. The junior races form part of the TESE Junior Race Series which scores points across a nine event season and requires Triathlon England membership with South East as the home region. The organiser lists Alzheimer Research UK as a charity partner with fundraising options at checkout. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
