WNY Pride 5K
The WNY Pride 5K is a 5 km run and walk event taking place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, on the SUNY Niagara campus in Sanborn, New York. The race is organized by Niagara Pride and is held in conjunction with a larger LGBTQ+ Wellness event that runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event serves as a fundraiser, with proceeds going toward creating the first Mobile Pride Unit in Western New York. Professional timing using RFID technology is provided. The post-race celebration includes an awards ceremony, food for participants, and the WNY Pride 5K Drag Race, where local drag performers compete to be crowned the fastest. Custom medals are awarded to the top three overall finishers, and trophies are given to the top finisher in each age group.
Participants receive a custom race t-shirt while supplies last, or an alternate gift item if shirts run out. There is plenty of free parking available on campus. Registration is open online until the race start. In the event of cancellation due to weather or safety concerns, the event may be rescheduled or converted to a virtual 5K, with no refunds issued.
