Event Details
The Wixom Derby Day is the 10th annual event hosted by the Wixom Downtown Development Authority. It takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Sibley Square Park in downtown Wixom. The event features three distances:
- 10k
- 5k
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Course Information
The 5k and 10k routes take participants along the Michigan Airline Trail, which is part of the Great Lake to Lake Trail. The 1 Mile Fun Run course goes through downtown neighborhoods.
Registration and Packet Pick-up
Onsite registration is available on race morning starting at 8:00 AM at Sibley Park. All payment transactions are cashless. Packet pick-up is available on Friday, May 1, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the City of Wixom Municipal Campus (49045 Pontiac Trail). Packets can also be collected on race morning at the registration table.
Participant Perks and Charity
All participants receive a complimentary Derby Day wristband and a finishing medal. A t-shirt is included, with a registration deadline of April 5 to guarantee a 10th anniversary shirt. The wristband provides access to Derby Day specials, including discounts at participating downtown businesses.
A portion of each registration fee ($5.00) supports Camp Casey, a nonprofit organization that provides horse-related experiences for children fighting serious illnesses.
Awards
All finishers receive a medal. Overall male and female winners of the 10k and 5k receive gift cards to a local restaurant. Placement pins are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age group for the 10k and 5k. Children can collect a temporary tattoo and a coupon at the event tent.
