Wixom Derby Day races
The Wixom Derby Day races take place in downtown Wixom at Sibley Park on May 2, 2026. The event marks the 10th annual Derby Day and features three distance options:
- 10k
- 5k
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The 5K and 10K routes run along the Michigan Airline Trail, which is part of the Great Lake to Lake Trial. The 1 Mile Fun Run follows streets through downtown neighborhoods. Packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, May 1 at the City of Wixom Municipal Campus; race-morning packet distribution and on-site registration are also available at Sibley Park. Race-day transactions will be cashless.
All participants receive a Derby Day wristband, a finishing medal, and a t-shirt; registrations completed by April 5 are guaranteed a 10th anniversary t-shirt. Ten dollars from each registration supports Camp Casey, with five dollars from each registration designated for Horsey House Calls, Cowboy Campouts, and Outlaw Outings to benefit children with serious illnesses.
Awards include finishing medals for all participants, gift cards for overall 10K and 5K winners, and placement pins for the top three in age categories. Children can visit the Wixom DDA tent for a temporary tattoo and a Dairy Queen coupon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
