Wired to Run 5K
Wired to Run is a 5K event held on June 6, 2026, benefiting the NTX WiNUP Chapter. WiNUP is a national organization focused on empowering and supporting women in the utility industry through professional development, leadership growth, networking, and community engagement. A portion of the event proceeds will benefit The Cove, a local nonprofit that supports youth experiencing homelessness by providing nutritious meals, hygiene services, tutoring, and emergency housing support.
The event takes place at Brazos Park East Bandshell Pavilion, 3516 N. MLK Jr. Blvd, Waco, Texas. Packet pick up is in front of the pavilion on the morning of the race and awards are presented in the same area. The course begins and ends at the bandshell pavilion and follows a down-and-back route. There will be two water stations along the course.
The race is chip timed and the entry fee is $35 for the 5K walk/run. Participants who register by April 25, 2026 are guaranteed a shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age division: 5-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus.
