Winter's End
Winter's End is a set of point to point trail races along the South Downs Way in southern England. The event includes routes that start near Arundel and at Queen Elizabeth Country Park and finish at either Queen Elizabeth Country Park or Winchester Athletics Track.
The event offers the following distances:
- 50 Mile Ultramarathon: Arundel to Winchester
- 50km Ultramarathon: Arundel to Queen Elizabeth Country Park
- Marathon: Queen Elizabeth Country Park to Winchester
Courses are fully marked and have well stocked aid stations with sweet and savoury snacks, vegan options, water and flat cola. Precision Fuel & Hydration PH 1000 electrolyte is provided on course and two PFH gels are available at registration. Some race categories include village hall checkpoints with toilets, hot food and drinks. Aid station locations are to be confirmed.
Logistics include coach transport from the finish locations to the respective start lines and a bag drop at each start. Runners collect bibs from the BigFeat HQ tent at the start locations. Mandatory kit requirements are specified for longer distances and include a headtorch for 50 mile runners, a jacket and a pack or belt for the tracker, plus a minimum of 500 ml fluid to carry. All 50 mile runners will have a kit inspection before bib collection. Runners can choose a finisher medal or opt to have a tree planted instead.
