Winter's End

Winter's End is a trail running event on the South Downs Way in March 2027 offering three point-to-point distances across West Sussex and Hampshire. Routes start near Arundel and Queen Elizabeth Country Park and finish at Queen Elizabeth Country Park or Winchester Athletics Track.

Distances:

• 50 Mile Ultramarathon - Arundel to Winchester
• 50km Ultramarathon - Arundel to Queen Elizabeth Country Park
• Marathon - Queen Elizabeth Country Park to Winchester

The event features a fully marked course, well stocked aid stations with vegan options, water and flat cola, on-course photographers, and village hall checkpoints with toilet facilities and hot food at some points. Aid stations will carry PH 1000 electrolyte liquid and runners receive two PFH gels at registration. The event operates as a cupless event.

Logistics include coach transport from finish locations to the start lines and a bag drop at each start; bags are moved to the finish for collection. Mandatory kit requirements for longer distances include a headtorch, jacket, a pack or belt for a tracker, and at least 500 ml of fluid. All 50 mile runners will have a kit inspection before collecting race bibs. Cut off times are published for each distance.

Finishers receive a bespoke medal or may opt to have a tree planted instead of a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
