Winter series – West Basin 10-mile (16k)
Organised by Canberra Runners, this event is part of the club Winter Series held on Saturdays from late April until mid September. The West Basin 10-mile is staged on the bike paths around the West Basin of Lake Burley Griffin.
The event distance is 16 km. In 2026 the course will be an out and back from the start location towards and past Scrivener Dam, reflecting works on Commonwealth Bridge.
Participation is free for members. Non-members pay an entry fee of $15 for adults and $5 for runners under 18. Entries will be accepted on the day, and online registration is encouraged to avoid delays. Registration for this event closes on 01 May 2026.
Practical notes: organisers ask participants to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start; the race will start on time. There are toilets nearby. Water and cups will not be available.
