About the race
Winter Challenge Day 1 takes place on Saturday 23 January 2027 near Capel Lane, Littleham, Exmouth EX8 2QZ. The event is organised by Running Events Devon and is presented as a seven hour timed event operating a TUGG system (Turn Up Get Going), allowing participants to start at any time during the event window and complete as many laps as they can within the timed limit.
Each lap is 5.3 km on an out-and-back route along an old disused train line. The organiser describes the course as accurately measured, classified as Road, and run entirely on tarmac. The route is described as scenic and undulating.
Entry is limited to 75 participants and the minimum age is 18 years. Entries close on 22/01/2027. Permit number for the event is ARC. Finishers who complete at least one lap within the permitted time are classed as finishers and may collect a medal; if the event reaches capacity, later entrants will receive a bespoke medal chosen from those available on the day.
