Wings for Life World Run Victoria
The Wings for Life World Run is a global sporting event held in Victoria, British Columbia. This event brings together runners and wheelchair participants at Clover Point Park to raise funds for spinal cord research, with 100% of entry fees and donations going directly to research projects.
The race follows a unique format without a traditional finish line. Participants use a mobile application and compete to stay ahead of a Virtual Catcher Car. This virtual vehicle begins its pursuit 30 minutes after the start at a speed of 14 km/h, steadily increasing its pace until all athletes have been overtaken.
The course in Victoria features a scenic waterfront out-and-back route along Dallas Road, stretching from Clover Point to the Ogden Point Breakwater. The track consists of a fully paved oceanfront path characterized by coastal views, open skies, and local winds. A refreshment station is available on-site for participants.
Athletes can aim for various distances depending on their pace: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
