Wings for Life World Run Liverpool

The Wings for Life World Run is a global event where participants compete simultaneously in various locations around the world. The Liverpool edition takes place on a track located around the outside of the Hill Dickinson Stadium. This event is an App Run, meaning participants use a dedicated mobile application to track their progress and participate in the global ranking.

The race format is unique as there is no static finish line. Instead, participants run or roll away from a Virtual Catcher Car. This digital vehicle begins its pursuit 30 minutes after the start of the race. It initially travels at a speed of 14 km/h and gradually increases its pace until it passes every participant. When the Virtual Catcher Car overtakes an individual, their race concludes.

The event is accessible for both runners and wheelchair participants, allowing everyone to move together on the same course. Essential amenities such as a refreshment station and a local setup are provided for participants. Each athlete receives a race number and timing through the app tracking system. Financial contributions from entry fees and donations are directed toward spinal cord research projects. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
