Run Aintree Half Marathon, 10k & 5k : 13 December 2026
Run Aintree takes place at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool and includes three distances: a Half Marathon, a 10 km and a 5 km. The event is organised by RunThrough and supports University Hospitals of Liverpool Charity.
The course runs as laps around the racecourse circuit. The surface is mostly tarmac with a short section on a trail path through the centre of the course. The route is described as flat. Lap format:
- Half Marathon - four laps of the circuit
- 10 km - two laps of the circuit
- 5 km - one lap of the circuit
Entries include a themed medal, free race photos, chip timed results and post race goodies. Water is provided approximately every 5 km on the Half Marathon and 10 km; the 5 km course does not pass a water station. There is a secure baggage drop and toilet facilities located in the racecourse grandstands that are passed during each lap.
Minimum ages are 17 years for the Half Marathon, 15 years for the 10 km and 11 years for the 5 km. Runners who expect to take more than three hours for the Half Marathon should contact the organiser for arrangements. Wheelchair athletes and buggy runners are welcome, though some narrow sections require care. Only assistance dogs are permitted within the racecourse grounds.
