Wings for Life World Run - Bath

The Wings for Life World Run in Bath is a unique global running event where participants compete against a virtual Catcher Car. This specific App Run Event takes place in the United Kingdom and is centered at the University of Bath athletics track. 100% of all entry fees are donated directly to spinal cord research through the Wings for Life foundation.

The event features a unique format without a traditional fixed finish line. Instead, participants start running at the same time and continue until they are overtaken by the virtual Catcher Car via the mobile app. The distance each individual covers depends entirely on their pace relative to the moving finish line. For context, to reach a distance of 15 km, a runner would need to maintain a pace of approximately 06:07 min/km for over an hour and a half.

Available distances and milestones include:

  • 3 km
  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • 15 km
  • 20 km
  • 40 km

The event is inclusive and open to wheelchair participants. The local setup at the University of Bath includes a refreshment station for runners. Participants use a dedicated mobile application for timing, race numbering, and tracking the position of the virtual Catcher Car. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
