About the race
Wine Run is a running and social event held at Rossendale Wines, 100 Old Taitapu Road, Kennedys Bush, Christchurch, on 16 January 2027. The route is a two-lap vineyard course with a minimum distance of 5 km and an optional second lap to make 10 km.
Wine tastings and cheese and crackers are offered at approximately every kilometre along the route; participants may choose wine tastings or water and electrolyte drinks at those stations. The event is non-competitive and includes costume and spot prizes, a Best Dressed group award, live entertainment, food trucks, and an after party. A memorabilia Wine Run glass and a Wine Run Coin are provided at the finish; the coin can be used at the event bar to redeem drinks. Wine Run Coins are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Transport options include pre-arranged buses to and from the vineyard and ample on-site car parking; bus pickup and drop-off points are assigned at registration. The event is restricted to persons aged 18 and over; proof of age must match registration details. Security will check bags and outside food or drink is not permitted except for pre-approved medical dietary requirements.
