Windsor Dorney Lakeside Marathon
The event is a marathon held at Dorney Lake, Off Court Lane, Windsor, Berks, SL4 6QP. The course is traffic free and flat and runs inside the grounds of Dorney Lake. There is a five hours twenty minutes cut off time for the race.
The venue provides free car parking next to the start area. Organisers note there are no pedestrian gates from the Thames path, the Sustrans path north of the lake, or from Boveney Road; the only public entry is via the Main Entrance off Court Lane. Local roads such as Marsh Lane, Court Lane and Boveney Road must not be used for parking.
Timing is by chip technology and finishing results are posted as runners cross the line. All finishers receive a medal and finish-line refreshments including water, juices, fruit and a chocolate bar. A free baggage drop is available in a cordoned area; participants are advised not to leave valuables as organisers cannot be held responsible.
The event is organised by RunUk. As part of the event, runners are encouraged to support Kingston Hospital Charity; further details are provided during registration. The nearest train station for public transport access is Taplow, which is about a 10 minute drive, a 17 minute bike ride or roughly a 1 hour walk to the main entrance.
