Windsor Dorney Lakeside Marathon : event summary
The event is staged at Dorney Lake, Off Court Lane, Windsor, Berks (SL4 6QP). The course is traffic-free and described as flat, running inside the lake grounds. The venue provides free car parking next to the start area.
Chip timing is used and finishing times are recorded and posted as runners cross the line. All finishers receive a medal and finish-area provisions including water, juices, fruit and a chocolate bar. Access notes: there are no direct public transport links to the venue. The nearest train station is Taplow; from there the boathouse via the main entrance is about a 10-minute drive, a 17-minute cycle, or roughly a one-hour walk. All pedestrian access is via the main entrance off Court Lane; pedestrian gates on the Thames Path, the Sustrans path on the north side of the lake, and Boveney Road are closed.
