Windmill Half Marathon
The Windmill Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 1st August 2027 at Lytham Windmill on the Green, Lytham St Annes, FY8 5LD. The event is a half marathon distance (13.1 miles) that starts and finishes on Lytham Green and follows a coastal route that includes views of the sea and the Lytham Windmill. The course is described as fast and flat.
Entries have now closed as the event is full. Entry was open to all runners aged over 17 on the day; online entry did not carry a transaction fee. Standard entry cost was £32.00 and UKA/ARC entry cost was £30.00.
Event facilities include bib number and T-shirt collection points, toilets, baggage storage, a secure key drop box, and medical facilities. Bib collection points at the venue open from 8.00am, and local collection from the organiser's office was available on specified pre-event days. All competitors must wear a personalised bib on the front with the chip timing tag visible and complete the medical information on the reverse.
The route is open to the public so runners should be aware of traffic, pedestrians and cyclists and must keep left at all times. Water stations are provided at regular intervals with bottled water; medics are available on the course and at the finish. Portable toilets are sited near the start and finish and on the route. Baggage storage is provided in a marquee next to collection points but is not manned. Results showing official and chip times are published shortly after the last competitor finishes. All finishers receive a medal, plus drinks and snacks; prizes are awarded in multiple overall and veteran categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
