Wilson Doughnut Run
The Wilson Doughnut Run is scheduled for September 19, 2026, in Wilson, North Carolina, at 301 South Goldsboro St., 27893, USA. This is the first annual edition of a 5K community event held to honor the officers involved in the courthouse shooting and to raise funds for local programs.
The event is a 3.1 miles (5K) running or walking event with an optional doughnut challenge at the turnaround point. Participants may run the course without eating doughnuts or choose one of three challenge levels at the turnaround:
- Mini Challenge: 12 doughnut holes
- Half Challenge: 6 doughnuts
- Full Challenge: 12 doughnuts
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Wilson Police Department Athletic League (PAL) and its Shop with a Cop program. Registration information provided by the organizer shows registration opens on August 1, 2026, and closes on September 19, 2026, with a registration fee of $45.00.
Every participant who crosses the finish line will receive a commemorative finisher's medal. The event combines a standard 5K format with a specific on-course eating element and a stated charitable purpose, and it is presented as a community occasion with a commemorative award for finishers.
