Event Details

The Wilmslow Summer 10K takes place on Sunday, 12 July 2026. It is a 10 km road race, licensed by UK Athletics.

Course and Location

The race starts in the town centre of Wilmslow (postcode SK9 1HG). The course is a single loop. It begins with a town centre start, passes through leafy residential streets, and continues onto scenic country roads. The route is described as a mix of flat running and countryside scenery. There is a single hill located within the 8th kilometre. The roads are fully closed to traffic for the event. The certified course measurement number is 23/287.

The finish line is on the outskirts of Wilmslow Town Centre.

Facilities and Inclusions

All finishers receive a bespoke medal. There is an optional commemorative technical finisher's t-shirt available. Pacers are provided from 35 to 70 minutes in 2.5-minute increments, and from 70 to 80 minutes. The race uses chip timing.

On-course facilities include:

  • A drinks station at the halfway point and another at the finish.
  • Kilometer markers.
  • Toilets.
  • First aid.
  • Free bag drop (baggage storage).

Post-race, there is a snack provided. High-resolution race photos are available to download for free. Results are available immediately online and can be received via text message.

Travel and Logistics

The closest train station is Wilmslow, located across the road from the Race HQ (Run North West HQ, 2 St Ann's Parade) and 0.2 miles from the start line. Bike storage is available at Everybody Leisure (SK9 1BU). Ample parking is available in Wilmslow Town Centre on Sundays, with specific details provided in the race booklet.

Entry Information

The entry fee is £28 for club runners and £30 for non-club runners. The minimum age for entry is 15 years. Entries close as soon as the race limit is reached or at midnight the night before the event. There is no entry on the day and no official waiting list.

Participants who can no longer attend can transfer their place to another person free of charge or transfer to a virtual race option to be completed within a month of the event date to receive their medal.
