Wilmington High School Alumni 5K Run/Walk
The Wilmington High School Alumni, Inc. presents its second annual 5K event held at the Charter School of Wilmington in Delaware. This community-focused gathering supports graduating seniors from New Castle County High Schools who are pursuing further education. Participants can choose from several registration categories:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Competitive Walking 5K
- Student 5K Registration Run / Walk
The Competitive Walking 5K is strictly for those who walk the entire distance; running or jogging is not permitted in this specific category. Results are tracked using the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System. Overall male and female winners, as well as masters winners, are determined by gun time, while age group awards are based on chip time.
Age group medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in categories ranging from 9 and under to 80 and over. Additionally, the top three male and female walkers receive medals. Preregistered participants receive T-shirts, which are also available for day-of registrants on a first-come, first-served basis. The event area features music, food, and drinks for those in attendance. Registration fees are non-refundable, and race bibs are non-transferable.
