The Willow Miner Trail Race is a scenic 5.4-mile (8.7 km) trail running event held in Durham, starting and finishing near the Graham Sports Centre (Maiden Castle). The course traverses woodland, meadows, and riverbanks, featuring landmarks like the Willow Miner and Willow Lady. Runners experience varied terrain including Houghall Woods, Durham Woodland Trust areas, wildflower meadows, and singletrack paths along the River Wear, with about 500 ft (150 m) of ascent.

The route is fully marked and marshalled, suitable for runners aged 16 and over. Trail or fell shoes are recommended due to steep and uneven ground. The event is organized by Elvet Striders and sponsored by LETS RUN. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
