Wildcat Lake Triathlon
The Wildcat Lake Triathlon is a multi-sport event held at Wildcat Lake Park in Bremerton, Washington. The course consists of three distinct segments, starting with a swim in Wildcat Lake. Participants transition to a road cycling portion and conclude with a trail run. The event includes a full individual triathlon, a relay option, and a Splash n Dash category specifically for children aged 7 to 15 years.
The triathlon features the following distances:
- 0.25 mile swim in Wildcat Lake
- 16 mile bicycle ride on flat roads with breakdown lanes
- 4 mile trail run
The event provides specific safety measures including certified life guards in kayaks during the swim and certified flaggers at major road intersections. For the cycling portion, participants are required to have bike handles plugged and must display provided bib sticker labels on both helmets and bikes. Wetsuits are permitted if the water temperature is 85F or lower.
Registered participants receive a long-sleeve dry release technical t-shirt and a finisher medal. Aid stations providing water, sports drinks, and gels are positioned every 3 miles along the course. Amenities at Wildcat Lake Park include on-site parking and accessible restrooms. A pre-race pasta feed and optional bib pick-up are hosted at the race site on the day prior to the event.
