Wild Turkey Trail Runs
Wild Turkey Trail Runs is a free trail race event at Valley Falls State Park near Fairmont, WV on August 22, 2026. The event uses a marked 10 mile figure eight loop with a single aid station located under a large park shelter adjacent to the parking area, allowing runners to use a vehicle as a personal aid station if desired. Elevation gain on the loop is approximately 175 feet per mile.

- 25K
- 10M
- 5M
The 50k course has a published Strava route and a GPX export option for use with navigation devices. The event provides food and drinks, including Tailwind and Gatorade, and participants are encouraged to bring personal fuel or contributions for the aid station. Race shirts are available for purchase for $25; the last day to reserve a shirt is July 30, 2026. Registration closes on August 19, 2026.
Finishers receive small giveaways such as car stickers and homemade medals. Time cutoffs apply for the longer distances and additional cutoffs will be posted to ensure the course is cleared in the evening. Camping is not available at Valley Falls State Park; nearby Coopers Rock and Tygart Lake State Park offer camping. Volunteer assistance is requested for event support.
