Wild Turkey Trail Runs : August 22, 2026
Wild Turkey Trail Runs is a free trail race held at Valley Falls State Park near Fairmont, WV on August 22, 2026. Multiple distance options are listed for the event. The course uses a 10 mile figure 8 loop with a single aid station located in the middle next to the parking area. The loop is marked and the overall elevation gain is approximately 175 ft per mile. A course map and an elevation chart are provided for competitors.
Support at the aid station includes food and drinks such as Tailwind and Gatorade. Participants are asked to bring some personal fuel; the aid station is under a large park shelter adjacent to the parking area, so runners may use their vehicles as personal aid stations. A Strava route is available for the 50k and a GPX file can be exported from it.
Race shirts are available for purchase at $25 with a reservation deadline of July 30, 2026. Finishers receive small giveaways including car stickers and homemade medals. Registration closes on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. Camping is not available at Valley Falls State Park; nearby camping is available at Coopers Rock and Tygart Lake State Park.
