Wild Rose Women's Indoor Triathlon

The Wild Rose Women's Indoor Triathlon is an all-female sports event held at the SLS Centre in Cochrane. Designed for participants aged 10 and older, this indoor event uses the facility's pool, spin studio, and indoor track to provide a controlled environment for swimming, biking, and running.

The competition is organized into heats and follows a time-based format rather than fixed distances:

  • Swim: 10 minutes in the pool to complete as many laps as possible using any stroke.
  • Bike: 20 minutes on a stationary bike led by an instructor.
  • Run: 15 minutes of walking or running on the indoor track.

Transition periods are built into the schedule, with 15 minutes allowed between the swim and the bike, and 5 minutes between the bike and the run. Participants move through the event in groups, each supported by a group leader who provides guidance and assistance.

Registration includes an official race bib, a commemorative finisher's bracelet, a post-race smoothie, and access to a post-race massage. Spectators are encouraged to watch the swim portion from the stands, as space in the spin room and track area is limited.

Required gear includes a swimsuit or trisuit, goggles, and a mandatory towel for transitions. Participants must also have running shoes for the bike and run segments, though stationary bikes are compatible with SPD cycling shoes for those who prefer them. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
