Wild Horse Gravel Half Marathon, DeBeque CO
The Wild Horse Gravel weekend is a multi-day gravel event centered in DeBeque, Colorado, with bike races on Saturday and a half marathon on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Events take place between the High Lonesome Ranch and the town of DeBeque, with many festivities hosted in downtown DeBeque and camping available at the DeBeque Community Center.
The weekend program includes registration and packet pick-up, a gravel pre-ride from the community center, a country cookout, campfires, live local music, food trucks, and evening community events such as a glowstick bonfire and camp trivia. The High Lonesome Ranch will offer additional activities including demos for fly fishing, roping, goat tying and barrel racing; horseback riding is available for a fee.
Course details are listed as TBA, and the race material notes the half marathon course finishes at mile 13.5 after running through high-desert terrain. Finishers receive on-course mementos as they cross the line, and awards are given for the top three age group placers. Customized cowbell awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: under 20; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+. Awards and mementos are not mailed after the event.
Camping is offered free on a first come, first served basis with community-style indoor sleeping available in a gym. High Lonesome Ranch enforces a strict no pets policy on its premises.
