Wild Horse Gravel Run
Wild Horse Gravel is a May weekend running and cycling event in DeBeque, Colorado, with activities centered in the town of DeBeque and at High Lonesome Ranch. The weekend combines gravel bike races with a mostly gravel out-and-back half marathon that begins and ends near town.

The half marathon course travels through the Wild Horse area on wide gravel roads, with rolling terrain, a mix of climbs and runnable sections, and open high-desert views. Elevation ranges from about 4,900 feet to 5,200 feet, with a total elevation gain of 767 feet. Aid stations are located near mile 3.5, at the 6.7-mile turnaround, and at mile 10. Finishers receive mementos at the finish line; awards are presented for top three age group placers and for overall men’s and women’s winners. Cowbell awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category: Under 20; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+.
Weekend features in town include registration and a pasta dinner on Friday evening, a gravel pre-ride, live music, food trucks, a glowstick bonfire, a post-race BBQ, and community camping at the DeBeque Community Center. The Wild Horse Challenge pairs any Saturday bike distance with the half marathon and includes a special finisher memento and an awards gathering.
