Wigton Road Runners 10K : event overview
The Wigton Road Runners 10K takes place on 18 October 2026 in Wigton, with Race HQ at Barton Laws (CA7 9QY). The event is held over a single measured loop of 10 km that uses footpaths and quiet, undulating country roads and finishes in Phoenix Park, a short walk from the start.
The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers. Road surfaces are described as generally acceptable, and caution is advised at turns with marshals positioned where necessary. A full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be on display at event headquarters in accordance with UKA rules.
Facilities and services include toilets, first aid cover and drinks provision at about 3 miles and at the finish. Every competitor will receive a medal; there will be no race prizes. Proceeds from the event will be split between two local charities: Watchtree Nature Reserve and Wigton Youth Station. Entry is payable online; affiliated club runners receive a £2 discount.
