Wigton Road Runners 10K (19 October 2025)
The event is a 10 km road and footpath race organised by Wigton Road Runners. Race HQ is at Barton Laws, Wigton CA7 9QY. Entry fee is £18.00 plus a fee of £0.50 and 5% per participant; affiliated club runners receive a £2 online discount. Registration closes 17 October 2025. There are 9 places remaining. No refunds will be given. Proceeds will be split between two local charities: Wigton Baths Trust and Wigton Theatre Club. Every competitor will receive a medal; there will be no prizes.
Course, safety and facilities
The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers. It is a single loop on footpaths and quiet undulating country roads, starting near Barton Laws and finishing in Phoenix Park. Road surfaces are described as generally okay, with caution advised at all turns and where marshals are positioned. Drinks are provided at approximately 3 miles and at the finish. A race safety briefing will take place before the event. First aid services and toilets will be available. A full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be on display at race HQ on race day. Live results will be provided.
