Wickham Summer XC Series
The Wickham Summer XC Series is the 35th edition of an annual cross country series at Wickham Park in Manchester, Connecticut. The series comprises five Monday evening races held between July 6 and August 3, 2026. The course distance is listed in event entries as 2.4 miles while the organizer notes the course is about 2.6 miles; entries cover the five scheduled races.
A points system will be used for the full-series first place age group award. Participants who race in multiple events are asked to retain their bib number from the park to simplify scoring across races.
Registration opens on May 7, 2026. A full-series entry covering all five races is offered at a discounted fee of $20. Individual race entries are listed with a fee of $5; individual race registration closes on each race date as listed. Walkup registration is accepted at the park by cash or check payable to Silk City Striders.
Race participants receive free entry to the park; spectators pay the regular park fee. Racers under 18 require a parent or guardian's approval and should be able to complete the course in under 45 minutes without supervision. The organizer will not cancel events unless the park is closed. Net proceeds from participant fees will benefit the Manchester High School Shoe Fund to provide running shoes to student athletes in need.
