WhyWomenRun Women's Event
The WhyWomenRun Women's Event is an established athletic gathering held at the Auckland Domain. Founded in 1978 by The Y Marathon Club, this event was one of the first initiatives specifically designed to support women's participation in outdoor sports. It remains focused on providing a welcoming environment for participants of various fitness levels and ages.
The event features several participation options on a course within the park grounds:

The race headquarters are located at the Auckland Domain Grandstand. Facilities available for participants include changing rooms, toilets, and showers situated under the Grandstand, with additional restroom facilities located throughout the park course. Water stations are positioned along the route with refuse bins nearby.
Parking is available in the areas surrounding the Domain. The event includes a prize-giving ceremony following the completion of the races, where major spot prizes are distributed.
