Whitehaven Harbour 5k
The Whitehaven Harbour 5k is a road running event situated on the coastal harbour front of Whitehaven. The race follows an out and back route that begins on the harbourside near the local supermarket. The course takes participants along the harbour area towards the Beacon and Haig Pit before returning along the same path.
While the majority of the course is flat, the route involves a climb up the candlestick area. This specific section includes segments with low walls and gravel underfoot. The course is officially certified and measured by the Association of UK Course Measurers.
Registration and the prize-giving ceremony take place at the Harbour Youth Project, located approximately five minutes from the start line beneath the multi-storey car park. Facilities provided at the registration area include toilets and light refreshments. Parking is available within the town of Whitehaven for attending participants.
The event has a maximum participation limit of 200 runners. The distances include:

All finishers receive a medal upon completing the course. Recognition is awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as winners in veteran age groups and junior categories for those aged 11 to 17.
