Whitefish Trail Blazer
The Whitefish Trail Blazer is a multi-day trail running event held at Whitefish Mountain Resort and the Whitefish Legacy Center in Montana. The event features various distances on natural terrain, including single and double-track trails with views of Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake. The primary goal of the event is to support the Whitefish Legacy Partners and the Whitefish Trail.
The distances available include:
- Blazer 50k: Approximately 31 miles with over 6,300 feet of elevation gain on technical terrain.
- Blazer Half Marathon: A 13.1 mile course on the Beaver Lakes area with 2,000 feet of gain.
- Blazer 10k+: A 6.8 mile route through dirt roads and trails with 750 feet of elevation gain.
- Blazer 5k+: A 3.4 mile single-track loop on the South Beaver loop with 500 feet of gain.
- Family Fun Run: A 2 mile loop on dirt forest access roads with 250 feet of gain.
- Virtual Options: Remote participation available for all standard race distances.
The 50k course includes four fully-stocked aid stations and three water-only stations. Stocked stations provide water, sports drinks, electrolytes, and various snacks such as fruit, chips, and cookies. Participants in all distances receive custom finisher prizes and sports nutrition products. Top finishers are eligible for overall awards, though no age group awards are distributed. Post-race celebrations feature a catered meal along with beer and non-alcoholic beverages. No pets are allowed on any of the race courses.
