Event overview
The Whitefish Lake Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Whitefish, Montana. The race offers two entry options: a Sprint Tri and a Sprint Tri Team Relay. Entry price listed for the Sprint Tri is $95 and for the Sprint Tri Team Relay is $200. Both events are open to participants aged 13 to 99. Prices increase after December 31, 2025.
Course details
The event starts and finishes at Whitefish City Beach on Lakeside Blvd. Distances are:
- Swim: 1/2 mile point-to-point open water swim
- Bike: 20K out-and-back along Whitefish Lake
- Run: 5K, two laps
Swim course: starts from the beach and follows a triangular route marked by buoys; swimmers should keep buoys on their left shoulder. Bike course: mostly flat with about four miles of uphill sections; it is an out-and-back route with a marked turnaround on E Lakeshore Dr. Riders are advised to stay to the right, pass on the left while calling out, and prefer the road to the bike path where pedestrians and pets are common. A police officer will manage traffic at Edgewood and Wisconsin. Run course: follows Lakeside Blvd and Dakota Ave for two laps, with the second lap returning to the transition area via Washington Ave to the finish.
