About the race
The White Squirrel Triathlon takes place on August 7, 2027 in Olney, Illinois, at Musgrove Park and Aquatic Center. The event uses an outdoor pool for the swim and follows with a bike and a run. Helmets are required for the bike segment.
Distances:
- 200 meter swim
- 14.2 mile ride
- 3.1 mile run
The event includes multiple entry categories: individual age groups, a team category, and Zeus/Xena classifications. Teams may consist of two or three persons and may be male, female, or coed. Youth rules state that athletes who are 10 or 11 by race day may participate on a team in the swim, run, or both; athletes who are 12 by race day may compete in any discipline as an age grouper or as a team member.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, to age groups, and to the top three teams. Age group divisions include 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Registration opens September 15, 2026 and closes August 5, 2027; the registration fee is $65.
