White River Run
The White River Run is a competitive event held in Anderson, Indiana, organized by the Anderson Road Runners Club. The course utilizes the city's paved trail system, following a route that meanders alongside the White River. Participants navigate a mostly shaded path that includes a wood boardwalk, the riverfront area, and the Blue Bridge.
The event features several distance options:
- 10K Run (6.2 Miles)
- 5K Run (3.1 Miles)
- 5K Walk (3.1 Miles)
The 10K and 5K Run events allow participants to walk, run, or use a combination of both. In contrast, the 5K Walk is a competitive walking-only event governed by race walking rules, requiring one foot to remain in contact with the ground at all times.
The race starts and finishes at the parking lot located at 222 E 10th St in downtown Anderson. Timing services are provided via chip timing for all participants. Finishers receive a pint glass upon completion of their event. Additional post-race activities include refreshments and a raffle. Race shirts are available for purchase during the registration process, though availability is only guaranteed for those who order by the specified pre-registration deadline. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in the various categories, including a Masters Division. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
