White Horse Hill, Seven Sisters & Beachy Head Coastal Expedition - 30K

This is a point to point coastal walk across the chalk cliffs of the South Downs National Park, running from Seaford to Eastbourne. The route covers approximately 30 km with about 700 m of cumulative ascent and an estimated on‑trail time of around 8.5 hours plus breaks. Participants gather at London Victoria Station to travel to the coast and finish on the Victorian promenade at Eastbourne.

The itinerary follows established coastal trails and passes several notable viewpoints, including Seaford Head, the Cuckmere Valley and the Litlington White Horse, the undulating crests of the Seven Sisters around Brass Point and Went Hill, Beachy Head, and the Holywell descent into Eastbourne. The mid‑hike lunch stop is located on a high cliff crest and the day commonly ends with a visit into Eastbourne before travel home.

Terrain is mainly hard‑packed chalk paths with exposed coastal turf and sections of shingle. The grade is described as moderate to strenuous endurance with a steady, sociable pace and regular stops at major summits. The event is intended for experienced hikers with a solid level of walking fitness. Recommended personal equipment includes hiking boots or sturdy trail shoes with good grip, suitable layered clothing for exposed conditions, a packed lunch and snacks, ample water, and a valid train ticket or contactless payment for outbound and return journeys.
