Event overview
The Whiskey and Wine 5K takes place on April 25, 2026 at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. The event is organized by The Running Birds and is a 5K run held at the Redbud Pavilion (200 Terrace Drive). The listed entry fee for the 5K is $55.
Format, course and rules
The course is a single loop 5K that passes by Lake Tranquility and will be marked with signs and flagging tape. There is some elevation on the route. Along the course participants may take optional whiskey and wine tastings placed approximately every half mile, for a total of six tastings. The organizers will provide three different wines and three different whiskies; exact selections are disclosed on event day. All participants must be 21 or older. Race-day packet pickup is at the Redbud Pavilion and requires photo ID for age verification; participants receive a custom wristband at pickup that must be worn on course to access tastings.
There will be one aid station at the halfway point and another at the finish; water is provided at both. No awards are given for finishing places. Each finisher exchanges their wristband for one bottle of whiskey or wine; the number of bottles equals the number of runners, so bottle selection depends on finish order.
