Event overview
The Whiskey and Wine 5K is a one-loop 5K held at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama on April 25, 2026. The event includes an optional whiskey and wine tasting along the course, with tastings offered every half mile for a total of six tasting stations. The organizer will provide three different wines and three different whiskies; specific varieties will be announced on the day of the event. The course passes by Lake Tranquility and is marked with signs and flagging tape. The route includes some elevation.
Logistics and rules
The event is based at the Redbud Pavilion (200 Terrace Drive, Pelham, AL 35124). Race-day packet pickup is at the Redbud Pavilion only; participants receive a custom wristband at packet pickup that must be worn on course to access tastings. All participants must be 21 or older and must present photo identification for age verification at packet pickup. There will be parking and restrooms available. There are two aid stations that provide water - one at the halfway point and one at the finish. No alcohol sales and no refunds are offered; entries may be transferred to another runner. Bottles of whiskey or wine are provided as finisher items, with the same number of bottles as participants; bottles are distributed to finishers in the order they complete the course.
