Whiskey and Wine 5K : event description
The Whiskey and Wine 5K takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Pelham, Alabama at Oak Mountain State Park. The event is a single-loop 5K course that passes by Lake Tranquility and includes some elevation.
The run features optional whiskey and wine tasting stations placed approximately every half mile, for a total of six tastings. Organizers will provide three different wines and three different whiskies; the specific selections are kept secret until the event and will not include Jack Daniels or Barefoot. There will be no alcohol sales on site.
All participants receive a custom wristband at race day packet pickup at the Redbud Pavilion (33.349113, -86.728967). Wristbands must be worn on the course to access tastings, and participants must be 21 years or older. Packet pickup is available only on race day and requires photo identification for age verification.
There are two aid stations on the course: one at the halfway point and one at the finish, both offering water. No awards are given for finishing places. Instead, each finisher exchanges their wristband for one bottle of whiskey or wine; the number of bottles equals the number of participants, so available choices depend on finish order. No refunds are offered, but entries may be transferred through the event organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
