Whiskey and Wine 5K in Pelham, Alabama
The Whiskey and Wine 5K takes place on April 25, 2026 at Oak Mountain State Park, 200 Terrace Drive, Pelham, AL. The event is a single loop 5K course that passes Lake Tranquility and is marked with signs and flagging tape. The route includes some elevation.
This event pairs a standard 5K run with an optional whiskey and wine tasting. Participants may sample a different whiskey or wine approximately every half mile, for a total of six tastings along the course. The organizer will provide three distinct wines and three distinct whiskies; the exact selections are kept secret until race day. The description notes that familiar mass market brands such as Jack Daniels whiskey and Barefoot wine will not be among the offerings.
All participants must be 21 or older. Race day packet pickup is at the Redbud Pavilion (33.349113, -86.728967); there is no early packet pickup. Each participant receives a custom wristband at packet pickup and must wear it on the course to be eligible for tastings. There will be no alcohol sales at the event.
One aid station will be at the halfway point and another at the finish, with water provided at both. No awards for overall finishing places will be given. Instead, each finisher exchanges the wristband for one bottle of whiskey or wine; the number of bottles equals the number of runners, so bottle availability depends on finish order.
