Whiskey and Wine 5K
The event is the third annual Whiskey and Wine 5K held at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. The run is a single loop of 5K (3.1 miles) that passes by Lake Tranquility. The course will be clearly marked with signs and flagging tape and includes some elevation.
The event offers an optional on-course tasting program with three different whiskies and three different wines at designated tasting locations. Organizers will feature six selected bottles; the exact selections are kept secret until the event. After completing the course and the tastings, participants may choose one bottle to take home. Bottles are provided in the same number as participants, so bottle choices are available on a first come basis at the finish.
All participants must be 21 years or older. Each participant receives a custom wristband at packet pickup and must wear it to access any tastings. There are no alcohol sales at the event. Participation in tastings and taking a bottle at the finish are optional.
Packet pickup and race day check-in take place at the Redbud Pavilion (33.349113, -86.728967). Parking and restrooms will be available. One aid station with water will be located at a tasting site and another at the end of the course. No refunds are offered; entries may be transferred through the organizer.
