Event
The Whinlatter Moon Runner is a 10k head-torch trail race held on 14 February 2026 at Siskins Cafe, Whinlatter Forest Park, Keswick, Cumbria. The event is organised by Greener Miles Running. Minimum age is 14. Entry fees are £23 for UKA members and £25 for non-members. Included with entry are a branded event memento, free downloadable event photos, a packet of wildflower seeds, prizes for the top three male and top three female finishers, and product samples from Chia Charge and Mountain Fuel Sports Nutrition. The organiser states an eco-friendly approach and does not use disposable plastic cups.
Course and logistics
The route is fully waymarked and is described as very hilly, using a mix of hard-packed gravel tracks, single twisting dirt tracks and occasional muddy bridleway within the forest. The event takes place in the winter months when ground frost is common. There will be a race HQ with toilets, medical support on the course, parking for approximately 200 cars, and refreshments available from the cafe.
