Event overview

The Bassenthwaite Triathlon takes place on 15 August 2026 at Bassenthwaite Sailing Club, Bassenthwaite Lake, Cockermouth, Cumbria. The sailing club provides free on-site parking, a clubhouse with food and drinks, and welfare facilities including showers. Registration closes 14 August 2026 and there are no entries on the day. Entry prices listed are Sprint £60 and Standard £65; relay entries are available (Sprint Relay £65, Standard Relay £70). Non-BTF members must purchase a British Triathlon race pass before the event. A tech t-shirt is offered for purchase during registration for £20 and can be collected at registration.

Races and rules

Both distances use open-water swims in Bassenthwaite Lake; wetsuits are compulsory for the swim. Bike legs are on undulating public roads; helmets are compulsory and bikes must be road worthy. Roads remain open to traffic and normal traffic laws must be followed. Bike and run routes will be signposted and supported by marshals.
