Wheathampstead 10K and 2K Fun Run
The Wheathampstead event offers a community running day with two main distances and supporting activities. Both races start and finish at Marford Playing Fields and the event base is at Memorial Hall, Marford Road, Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire AL4 8AY.
Distances
- 10 km off road course through the Hertfordshire countryside. Minimum age 15 years.
- 2 km circular off road course for families, runners and walkers.
The 10 km route is an off road course through countryside terrain. The 2 km fun run is a circular off road route aimed at families and mixed ability groups; children under 7 must be accompanied by a paying adult. An Inter-School 2 km Challenge runs alongside the event with schools competing for prizes and a school selection included at registration.
Race headquarters offer a baggage drop at Marford Hall. Onsite extras listed for the day include barbecue, drinks, cakes, fairground rides, massage services and stalls.
Entry fees are tiered. For the 10 km: £22 early bird until 27 February 2026, £26 advance until 16 May 2026, £30 on the day. For the 2 km: £5 advance until 16 May 2026, £6 on the day. A booking fee of 6% applies at checkout.
Proceeds support Beech Hyde Primary School and Nursery. The event is organised by Beech Hyde Association. If the event is cancelled a deferral option is available; no refunds are offered but entries may be transferred to another runner until 7 May 2026.
