Weymouth Half Marathon
The Weymouth Half Marathon returns for its 11th edition on Sunday, 15th March 2026. This professionally organised event takes place along the coastline of Dorset, offering a route that transitions through the historic town of Weymouth and its harbour. The course is designed to be fast and varied, featuring a mix of flat sections and short, steep climbs in the second half.
Participants can choose between two race distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Half Half (approximately 7 miles)
The race starts near the Weymouth Pavilion on the Esplanade. The route primarily consists of tarmac and concrete surfaces, including stretches along Preston Beach Road and the Rodwell Trail. While much of the first half is flat, the latter portion includes elevations such as the Nothe area and sections with short hills. The event traditionally utilizes closed roads and includes chip timing for all participants.
Water stations are positioned at regular intervals along the course, and full medical cover is provided. All finishers receive a high-quality medal upon completion. Registration is open to individuals aged 16 and over for the shorter distance, and 17 and over for the full half marathon.
