43rd Annual Westminster Main Street Mile
The Westminster Main Street Mile is a road running event featuring a point-to-point course. The route is recognized for its downhill trajectory, featuring a 144-foot vertical drop from the starting area to the finish line. The event offers two distinct participation options over the 1-mile distance:
- 1 Mile (Heat 1): An officially timed and scored race using chip timing. This heat is recommended for participants aged 11 and over who maintain a pace of 10 minutes per mile or faster.
- 1 Mile (Heat 2 / Fun Run): A non-timed heat for participants aged 10 and under, or those running at a pace slower than 10 minutes per mile.
The race starts at 410 East Main Street and concludes near the intersection of Main Street and Route 27, by the Carroll County Public Library. Participants should note that the packet pick-up location at the Westminster Family Center is situated near the finish line, approximately one mile away from the starting point.
All finishers in both heats receive a medal and ice-cream sandwiches at the post-race venue. For the timed heat, cash awards and medals are presented to the top three male and female finishers, as well as top masters and age-group winners. The fun run heat includes special awards for the top male and female participants aged 10 and under. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
