Western Mass 10
Sunday, November 1, 2026. The Western Mass 10 is a fall road race offering a point to point 10 mile distance, a NoHo 5K, and a 2-person relay option. The 10 mile course begins on the UMass Amherst campus, runs through downtown Amherst, and continues mainly along the paved Norwottuck Trail. The trail segment features a generous net downhill elevation and panoramic views of the Holyoke Range and the Connecticut River Valley.
A notable feature of the 10 mile course is the crossing of the Connecticut River on the Northampton Lattice Truss Bridge before finishing in downtown Northampton at historic Union Station. The 2-person relay has an exchange at the five mile point.
The NoHo 5K uses a relatively flat lollipop course that starts and finishes in downtown Northampton. Participants in the 10 mile event, both individual runners and relay teams, receive a custom finisher medal and a long sleeve technical shirt. 5K participants receive a short sleeve technical shirt. All participants are offered a post-race party with food and beer.
The event participates in the Tri State Triple series and lists Girls On The Run Western MA as its charity partner. The event was sold out in 2025. New in 2026 is the HMF Milestone membership program with membership perks and an optional enhanced Milestone Plus tier. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
