Western Mass 10
The Western Mass 10 offers multiple race distances during the peak fall foliage season. The event features a point-to-point course for longer distances and a looped course for the shorter distance, moving through the scenic landscapes of western Massachusetts.
Participating runners can choose from the following distances:
- 10 Mile
- 2-Person Relay (10 Mile)
- NoHo 5K
The 10 Mile race begins at the UMass Amherst campus and travels through downtown Amherst. The majority of the route follows the Norwottuck Trail, a paved bike path that features a net downhill elevation. Runners pass over the Connecticut River via the Northampton Lattice Truss Bridge and view the Holyoke Range before finishing at Union Station in downtown Northampton. The 2-Person Relay uses the same course with an exchange point at the 5-mile mark.
The NoHo 5K is a relatively flat lollipop-style course that begins and ends in downtown Northampton. This distance is open to both runners and walkers.
All participants receive a technical shirt, with long sleeves provided for the 10-mile events and short sleeves for the 5K. Those completing the 10-mile distances earn a custom finisher medal. The event concludes with a post-race celebration at the finish area featuring food and drinks. This race is also part of the Tri-State Triple series, which connects events in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts throughout the autumn season.
