West Texas Ultra
The West Texas Ultra is a trail running event held at Lake Meredith National Recreation Area near Fritch, TX. The event is based at the South Turkey Creek Trailhead and uses dirt and rocky single track trails on the Turkey, Harbor Bay, and Fritch Fortress routes. The course is remote and out-and-back in sections, with runners likely to encounter each other on single track.

The 50 Mile course shows about 5,400 feet of elevation gain and the terrain is described as rugged and hilly. Historic average temperatures for the event period range from about 42 to 72 degrees. Water carrying is required: a 32 ounce minimum for 50 Mile and 50K, 16 ounce minimum for 25K, and no mandatory carrying for the 10K other than a cup or bottle for the finish. The 10K Ruck requires a 25 pound minimum load and a 16 ounce minimum for hydration; a vest or sack is allowed.
Aid stations provide hot and cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice and ice. Drop bag transport to aid stations is not available; drop bags can be left at the start and finish area.
