West Seattle 5K
The West Seattle 5K is presented by West Seattle High School PTSA and takes place in Seattle on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the Alki Beach area near the Alki Bath House, 2701 Alki Ave SW. The event offers multiple registration categories including Adult Registration, Youth Registration, Staff Registration, and a WSHS Student category.
The course is a USATF certified five-kilometer route along Alki Avenue SW. The route begins at the Alki Bath House, proceeds east along Alki Avenue SW to Anchor Park, then returns to the starting area. The event is open to walkers and runners; walkers are asked to start toward the back of the field.
Packet pick-up is available on-site the morning of the event and the day before at West Seattle Runner, 2743 California Avenue SW. T shirts are provided to the first 1,200 paid registrants and gift bags are distributed to the first 1,000 participants who pick up on the Saturday packet pick-up. Alki and Harbor Avenues will be closed to traffic on the morning of the event and parking at Alki Beach is limited.
A gear check is offered; items should be bagged and will be marked with the participant bib number. Proceeds support a monthly staffed Saturday Study Hall serving about 100 students per session, classroom supplies, student club mini grants, student-led initiatives, and teacher minigrants.
