West Hill Turkey Trot
The West Hill Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning running and walking event in Schenectady, New York, with a start and finish on Terrace Road by the Activity Field. The course is a two lap loop for the 5K and a single lap for the walk. Each lap includes 165 feet of climbing, for a total of 330 feet of ascent on the 5K, and features a signature climb up Terrace Road followed by a gradual descent on the back side of the loop.
Event options:
- 5K Run: two laps on the West Hill course
- 1.5 Mile Walk: one lap on the same loop
Strollers are permitted; dogs are not allowed. The event will proceed in all weather conditions.
Registration information provided by the organizer indicates an opening date of 2026-07-01 and a closing date of 2026-10-31. Non-residents are charged a $15 entry fee plus platform processing fees. West Hill residents may register free using a coupon code published in the West Wind. Awards are planned for top three overall finishers and for winners in each age group of the 5K.
