Event Overview
The West Hill Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving morning in Schenectady, New York. It is a first-year community event offering a 5K run and a 1.5 mile walk.
Course Details
The 5K run consists of two laps on a single loop course. Each lap includes a 165-foot climb up Terrace Road, totaling 330 feet of elevation gain for the full run. The route also features a gradual descent on the back side of the loop. The event starts and finishes on Terrace Road by the Activity Field.
Event Information
The event offers two options:
- A 5K run (two laps).
- A 1 Lap walk (1.5 miles).
Strollers are permitted at the event, but dogs are not allowed. The event takes place regardless of weather conditions.
Registration and Fees
Registration for both events opens on June 1, 2026. The entry fee is $15, plus platform processing fees, for non-residents. West Hill residents can register for free with a coupon code found in the local West Wind publication. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
