8th Annual Wessagusset 5K
The Wessagusset 5K is a community athletic event held in Weymouth, Massachusetts. The event takes place at O'Sullivan Field and serves to support the Wessagusset School community. All proceeds from the race are used to fund educational opportunities and enrichment programs for students.
Participants can choose from the following events:
- 5K run or walk
- Kids Fun Run dash
The course utilizes numbered bibs equipped with timing chips to record and score participant results. Runners are required to wear their assigned bibs during the event for official timing. Registration includes a variety of fee structures, including early bird rates and a family rate for groups of four or more.
Event amenities include T-shirts for the first 200 registered participants, provided they sign up before the end of April. Following the conclusion of the 5K, the North Weymouth Civic Association hosts Neighborhood Day. This post-race gathering is open to runners and spectators, featuring food, beverages, music, and activities for children.
Parking for the event is located in the public lot off North Street, as the school lot on Pilgrim Road remains closed to participant vehicles. Volunteers are positioned on-site to assist with traffic direction. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
