About the race
The Weslaco Scholarship Foundation Scholar Stride 5K is a community running event held on December 5, 2026 at Harlon Block Sports Complex in Weslaco, Texas. Proceeds benefit the Susan Peterson Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded annually to graduating seniors in the top 15% of their class at Weslaco ISD.

- 1 Mile (Ages 6–10)
Registration options include a 5K with race shirt and a 5K without a shirt, plus a 1 mile fun run for children. Registration opens July 28, 2026; some registration categories close by November 22, 2026 or December 5, 2026. A separate deadline for T-shirt sizes is November 21, 2026. Fees listed by the organizer include $30 for the 5K with shirt, $22 for the 5K without shirt, and $15 for the 1 mile event.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, December 4, 2026 at a location to be determined; participants must collect bibs and any eligible shirts at pickup. The 5K uses chip timing and live results. Participants receive a finisher medal; eligible registrations may receive an official race shirt while supplies last. Onsite amenities noted by the organizer include a hydration station, refreshments, DJ music, a start/finish inflatable arch, and local vendor booths.
