Weslaco Scholarship Foundation Scholar Stride 5K
The Weslaco Scholarship Foundation Scholar Stride is a community running event held on December 5, 2026, at Harlon Block Sports Complex in Weslaco, TX (1020 W. 18th Street). Proceeds support the Susan Peterson Memorial Scholarship, awarded annually to graduating seniors in the top 15 percent of their class at Weslaco ISD.
Distances offered include:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk (ages 6–10 only)
Registration options and fees listed by the organizer include a 5K with race shirt for $30, a 5K without a shirt for $22, and the 1-mile fun run for $15. The deadline to submit T-shirt sizes is November 21, 2026; remaining shirts are distributed during packet pickup on a first-come, first-served basis. Packet pickup is scheduled for December 4, 2026, at a location to be determined.
Race amenities for 5K participants and attendees include chip timing and live results, finisher medals, official race shirts for eligible registrations, refreshments and a hydration station, DJ music, a start/finish inflatable arch, and local vendor booths. Awards are given to the top male and top female overall and to the top three finishers within each listed age group.
