Weir Warrior Memorial Ruck
The Weir Warrior Memorial Ruck is a timed endurance event organized by Dark Horse Adventures on June 12, 2027 in Showdown, Montana, with the event address listed as 2850 US-89, Neihart MT 59465. The event is held in memory of two people who were killed in a vehicle accident in March 2021.
The event program includes multiple timed formats where the objective is to complete as many laps as possible within each time limit. Adult ruck events require participants to wear a 25 pound ruck or weighted vest for the full duration. A kids ruck requires a 10 pound ruck or weighted vest, with weight optional for children age 10 and under. There is also a hike option that requires no extra weight and a run option for participants who prefer to move without added weight.
Registration opens September 1, 2026 and closes May 29, 2027. Listed registration fees are $75 for the six hour ruck, $65 for the three hour ruck, $30 for the kids one hour ruck, $65 for the three hour hike, and $65 for the three hour run.
After the course, food and beer for those 21 and older will be available in the lodge. Adult participants receive a hat and a shirt; children receive a shirt. The top three finishers in the three hour and six hour ruck events receive additional recognition. All proceeds go to the Weir Warrior Memorial Scholarship for graduating Montana high school seniors pursuing technical or trade training.
