Triathlon Overview at The Bridge Sports Complex
The Weather the Storm Triathlon takes place in Bridgeport, West Virginia, with the entire course located on The Bridge Sports Complex campus. This multi-sport event features a variety of distances and formats, including individual and relay options. The competition includes an indoor pool swim, a bike leg on pavement, and a run held on trail surfaces.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- Sprint Triathlon: Includes a 750 m swim, 12.4 mile bike, and 3.1 mile run.
- Super Sprint Triathlon: Includes a 400 m swim, 6.2 mile bike, and 1.5 mile run.
- Kids Triathlon: Includes a 100 yard swim, 1 mile bike, and 100 yard dash.
The Sprint distance is open to individuals and teams of two or three members. For those who wish to compete in a relay but do not have a full team, a free agent option is available to help match participants based on their preferred discipline. The Kids Triathlon is specifically for ages 5 to 12 and utilizes stopwatch timing.
All participants who register by August 1st receive a t-shirt. The event provides finisher medals, and awards are presented to the overall top three male and female finishers. Recognition is also given across various age divisions ranging from 10-19 to 70+. This race is part of the Bridge to Victory Race Series and is timed by Wolf Creek Race Management.
