We Run Bayview 5K
We Run Bayview 5K takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, beginning at Candlestick Point State Recreation Area and following Third Street through Bayview-Hunters Point to the finish at the District 10 Health Fest at the Southeast Community Center. The course is point-to-point; free shuttles will run from the finish back to Candlestick.
The event is the third annual We Run Bayview 5K and is organized as a community run that connects participants with local organizations and health resources. Proceeds from this year's race will support the launch of a Healthy Food Bank initiative to increase local access to fresh, nutritious food and wellness resources. Each registered participant receives a meal voucher redeemable at participating businesses along the Third Street corridor.
The race honors local community leadership and the history of Candlestick Point State Recreation Area. In the 1970s community leaders secured funding and worked with residents and businesses to develop the area as a state park, adding fishing piers, picnicking areas, and trails.
