Event Overview
We Run As One is a community sports event organized by the Fulton County Youth Advisory Council (YAC). The event takes place at 8514 OH-108 in Wauseon, Ohio, and focuses on community connection and mental health awareness for young people. Participants can choose between different distances and formats:
- 5K Timed Race (Open to adults and youth)
- 1 Mile Untimed Walk/Run (Ages 18 and up)
- 1 Mile Untimed Walk/Run (Youth ages 5 to 17)
The event features a variety of additional activities alongside the races. Attendees can access community resource tables and participate in family-friendly games and activities. Food trucks are also present on-site. Participants who register by May 21 receive a race t-shirt, while those registering after this date may receive shirts based on availability.
Safety and participation guidelines are in place for all attendees. Children between the ages of 5 and 10 must be physically accompanied by an adult. Strollers are permitted for those participating in the 1 mile walk/run but must start at the rear of the group. Pets are not allowed at the venue, with the exception of service animals.
This event uses colored corn starch, which is thrown at participants during the course. It is recommended that participants wear goggles or glasses and a bandana to protect their eyes and mouth. Those with respiratory conditions or who are pregnant are advised to consult a doctor before attending. In the event of inclement weather, start times may be delayed by up to one hour, but no rain date is scheduled and registration fees are non-refundable.
