We Are One EHE Prostate Cancer Ride : Rocky Mount, NC
The event in Rocky Mount, North Carolina raises public awareness about prostate cancer and supports scientific research to improve diagnosis and treatment outcomes. It specifically emphasizes outreach to African American men in Edgecombe County and surrounding areas.
The gathering is based at Thornes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1624 Windsor Drive, Rocky Mount. It includes supported road cycling routes and untimed walk/run options. Routes are fully supported by the Edgecombe County Sheriff Office for traffic control and staffed rest stops. Volunteers at rest stops carry radios to communicate with the sheriff's office, an event command center, SAG vehicles, and emergency services. Course signage will include white signs with blue arrows and informational prostate cancer educational notes.
Participant packets contain a numbered bib, an adhesive helmet sticker, an adhesive t-shaped timing chip, event details, and sponsor giveaways. Precision Race provides timing, results, and start/finish photos posted to the event site as they become available.
The event lists recommended road cycling safety measures such as wearing a helmet, checking brakes and tires, riding single file when appropriate, and using standard verbal alerts when passing or reporting hazards. For medical emergencies, participants should notify the nearest staff member, volunteer, or SAG personnel or contact emergency services.
